A creamy, single-serve mac and cheese made quickly in the microwave for a comforting snack or meal.

# What You’ll Need:

→ Pasta

01 - 1/2 cup elbow macaroni (uncooked)

→ Liquid

02 - 1/2 cup water
03 - 1/4 cup whole or 2% milk

→ Cheese & Seasonings

04 - 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
05 - 1/4 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional)
06 - 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
07 - Salt and black pepper, to taste

→ Topping (optional)

08 - 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
09 - Pinch of smoked paprika

# How to Make It:

01 - Place elbow macaroni and water in a large microwave-safe mug (minimum 12 oz capacity) and stir to combine.
02 - Microwave on high for 2 to 3 minutes. Stir, then continue microwaving in 30-second intervals, stirring each time, until pasta is al dente and most water is absorbed, totaling 4 to 5 minutes. Monitor to avoid overflow.
03 - Add milk, shredded cheddar, Dijon mustard, and garlic powder. Stir thoroughly to blend ingredients.
04 - Microwave for an additional 30 to 40 seconds until cheese melts and sauce becomes creamy.
05 - Stir again and season with salt and black pepper. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and smoked paprika if desired. Serve immediately.

  • Add a spoonful of cream cheese for extra creaminess.
  • For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free pasta.
