01 -  Toast the whole grain bread slices until golden and crisp. 
 02 -  In a small bowl, combine cottage cheese, minced garlic, and chopped dill or chives. Stir until thoroughly mixed. 
 03 -  Season the cottage cheese mixture with salt and freshly ground pepper to taste. 
 04 -  Spread the cottage cheese mixture evenly over the toasted bread slices. Serve immediately.
