01 -  Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the noodles and cook according to package directions until al dente. Reserve 1/4 cup of the pasta water, then drain well. 
 02 -  While the noodles cook, melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Swirl occasionally until butter foams and turns golden brown with a nutty aroma, about 4 to 5 minutes. Watch carefully to prevent burning. 
 03 -  Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant. Immediately remove skillet from heat to avoid burning the garlic. 
 04 -  Add drained noodles to the skillet with browned butter. Toss thoroughly to coat the noodles. 
 05 -  Mix in reserved pasta water, parmesan cheese, parsley, black pepper, and lemon zest if desired. Toss until cheese is melted and ingredients are fully incorporated. Adjust seasoning to taste. Serve immediately, garnished with extra parmesan and fresh parsley.
