Heat vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add 2–3 popcorn kernels and cover. Once they pop, add the remaining kernels in a single layer, cover, and shake the pot occasionally. Continue heating until popping slows to intervals of a few seconds. Remove from heat and transfer the popcorn to a large mixing bowl.

In a small saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Stir in granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and sea salt until combined and the sugar is partially dissolved.

Drizzle the cinnamon-sugar butter mixture over the warm popcorn. Use a spatula or clean hands to toss thoroughly until all popcorn is evenly coated.

Let the coated popcorn cool slightly to allow the coating to set. Serve immediately for the best taste and texture.
