01 - 4 slices rustic or sourdough bread
02 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
03 - 4 ounces fresh mozzarella, sliced

04 - 1 large ripe tomato, sliced
05 - 8 to 10 fresh basil leaves
06 - Salt and black pepper, to taste
# How to Make It:
01 - Spread softened butter evenly on one side of each bread slice.
02 - Place two bread slices buttered side down. Layer mozzarella, tomato slices, and basil leaves. Season with salt and pepper.
03 - Cover with remaining bread slices, buttered side up.
04 - Preheat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat.
05 - Place sandwiches in skillet and cook 3 to 4 minutes per side until bread is golden brown and cheese is melted, pressing gently with a spatula for even crispness.
