Peach Jalapeño Chia Jam Toasts (Print Version)

Crisp toast topped with peach jalapeño chia jam for a sweet, slightly spicy vegetarian snack or breakfast treat.

# Ingredients:

→ Fruits

01 - 4 ripe peaches, pitted and diced
02 - 1 jalapeño, finely chopped, seeds removed for milder heat
03 - 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
04 - 1 tablespoon lemon juice
05 - 60 ml chia seeds

→ Bread

06 - 4 slices bread of choice, sourdough recommended

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Combine diced peaches, jalapeño, honey or maple syrup, and lemon juice in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Cook for approximately 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until peaches soften and mixture begins to break down.
02 - Remove the fruit mixture from heat. Stir in chia seeds thoroughly, then allow the mixture to stand for 5 minutes to thicken.
03 - Toast bread slices until golden and crisp according to preference.
04 - Spread the peach jalapeño chia jam generously onto each toasted bread slice. Serve immediately for best texture.

01 - For increased spiciness, retain some jalapeño seeds in the jam mixture.
