# Ingredients:

01 - 8 cups (2 quarts) apple cider (not apple juice)
02 - 1 orange, sliced
03 - 3 cinnamon sticks
04 - 6 whole cloves
05 - 4 whole allspice berries
06 - 2 star anise (optional)
07 - 1–2 tbsp brown sugar or maple syrup (optional, to taste)

# Steps to Follow:

01 - In a large pot, combine apple cider, orange slices, cinnamon sticks, cloves, allspice, and star anise if using.
02 - Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
03 - Reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered for 30 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse.
04 - Taste and add brown sugar or maple syrup if additional sweetness is desired.
05 - Strain to remove spices and orange slices if preferred.
06 - Serve hot, garnished with fresh orange slices and cinnamon sticks.
