High-Protein Low-Calorie Ice Cream (Print Version)

Protein-packed frozen treat from fruit, protein powder and almond milk—ready in minutes for a light, satisfying snack.

# What You’ll Need:

→ Base

01 - 2 cups frozen mixed fruit (strawberries, mango, blueberries)
02 - 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or milk of choice)
03 - 2 scoops protein powder (vanilla or unflavored; about 1/4 cup total)

→ Sweetener & Flavor

04 - 1–2 tablespoons honey, agave, or zero-calorie sweetener (optional, to taste)
05 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

→ Add-ins (optional)

06 - 2 tablespoons dark chocolate chips or cacao nibs

# How to Make It:

01 - Place frozen mixed fruit, protein powder, and almond milk in a high-speed blender or food processor.
02 - Blend on high, pausing to scrape down the sides, until the mixture is smooth and resembles soft-serve.
03 - Taste and add 1–2 tablespoons sweetener and/or 1 teaspoon vanilla extract if desired; blend briefly to incorporate.
04 - For a soft-serve texture, serve immediately. For a firmer texture, transfer to a freezer-safe container and freeze for 1–2 hours before scooping.
05 - Spoon into bowls and scatter dark chocolate chips or cacao nibs on top if using; serve with fresh fruit or nuts as desired.

# Additional Tips::

01 -
  • You get that cold, creamy dessert fix without the sugar crash—trust me, it's sneakily satisfying.
  • It's so quick that you can blend up a batch after a workout or when friends pop by unexpectedly.
02 -
  • Blend time is key—over-blending can melt your ice cream into a smoothie, so aim for just enough to get it creamy.
  • Switching up the fruit makes each batch feel totally new, and bananas sneaked in lend the smoothest texture.
03 -
  • I've found that using extra-ripe bananas in the frozen fruit blend boosts creaminess without extra sweetener.
  • For a true ice-cream-shop feel, serve with a drizzle of melted dark chocolate and finish with a pinch of flaky sea salt.
