Goulash with Beef and Turkey (Print Version)

# What You’ll Need:

01 - 1.1 lbs beef stew meat or ground turkey

→ Vegetables

02 - 1 large onion, finely chopped
03 - 2 garlic cloves, minced
04 - 1 green bell pepper, diced
05 - 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
06 - 2 tbsp tomato paste

→ Pantry

07 - 8 oz short pasta (elbow macaroni or rotini)
08 - 2 tbsp vegetable oil or olive oil
09 - 2 cups beef or chicken broth
10 - 1 tsp paprika
11 - 1 tsp dried oregano
12 - 1 tsp dried basil
13 - ½ tsp ground black pepper
14 - 1 tsp salt, or to taste

15 - ½ tsp chili powder for heat
16 - Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

# How to Make It:

01 - Heat oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add beef or turkey and brown evenly, about 5 to 7 minutes.
02 - Add chopped onion and diced bell pepper; cook for 3 minutes until softened.
03 - Stir in minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
04 - Mix in tomato paste, paprika, oregano, basil, salt, and black pepper; stir well to coat ingredients.
05 - Pour in diced tomatoes and broth. Bring to a simmer, cover, and cook 15 minutes if using turkey or 25 minutes for beef until meat is tender.
06 - Add pasta, stir well, cover, and cook 10 to 12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender and liquid mostly absorbed.
07 - Taste and adjust salt and spices as needed. Serve hot garnished with fresh parsley if desired.
