Easy Apple Tart (Print Version)

Flaky pastry, sweet apples, and cinnamon combine for an irresistible, quick dessert with a buttery golden finish.

# Ingredients:

→ Pastry

01 - 1 sheet ready-made shortcrust pastry (approx. 250 grams)

→ Apples

02 - 4 medium seasonal apples (such as Granny Smith or Golden Delicious), peeled, cored, and thinly sliced

→ Topping

03 - 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
04 - 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
05 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into small cubes

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Preheat the oven to 200°C. Line a 23 cm tart pan with baking paper if desired.
02 - Roll out the ready-made pastry and gently fit it into the tart pan. Trim any overhanging edges.
03 - Layer the apple slices in concentric circles over the pastry base.
04 - Combine granulated sugar and ground cinnamon in a small bowl. Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the apples.
05 - Dot the apples with the cubes of unsalted butter.
06 - Bake for 35 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the pastry is golden brown.
07 - Let the tart cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.

# Additional Notes:

01 - For a glossy finish, brush the apples with a little warmed apricot jam after baking.
02 - Serve with vanilla ice cream or freshly whipped cream for a classic accompaniment.
03 - A squeeze of lemon juice over the apples before baking will enhance flavor and help prevent browning.
