Preheat the waffle maker to medium-high heat.

Unroll the croissant dough and separate into 6 triangles. Loosely roll or leave flat as preferred. Lightly sprinkle all sides of each piece with sugar.

Place sugared dough triangles in the heated waffle iron. Close, press gently, and cook for 6 to 8 minutes until croffles are deeply golden and crisp.

Transfer croffles to a cooling rack. Serve warm dusted with icing sugar or topped with spreads and berries as desired.
