Cinnamon Swirl Protein Banana Oats (Print Version)

Single-serve baked oats with banana, protein powder, and cinnamon swirl. Perfect for breakfast.

# What You’ll Need:

→ Wet Ingredients

01 - 1 medium ripe banana, mashed
02 - 1 large egg
03 - ½ cup unsweetened milk of choice
04 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

→ Dry Ingredients

05 - ½ cup old-fashioned rolled oats
06 - 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
07 - ½ teaspoon baking powder
08 - Pinch of salt

→ Cinnamon Swirl

09 - 1 tablespoon coconut sugar or brown sugar
10 - 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
11 - 1 teaspoon melted butter or coconut oil

# How to Make It:

01 - Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a single-serving ramekin with 8 to 10 ounce capacity.
02 - In a mixing bowl, thoroughly mash the banana. Whisk in the egg, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
03 - Stir in the oats, protein powder, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
04 - Pour the mixture into the prepared ramekin and smooth the top with a spatula.
05 - In a small bowl, combine coconut sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter to form a paste.
06 - Spoon the cinnamon mixture in small dollops over the oat batter. Use a knife or skewer to gently swirl through the top layer.
07 - Bake for 22 to 25 minutes, or until the center is just set and the top is golden brown.
08 - Allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy warm, optionally topped with yogurt, banana slices, or nut butter drizzle.

# Additional Tips::

01 -
  • It bakes in a single ramekin, so there's no batch guilt and zero leftovers tempting you all week.
  • The cinnamon swirl adds that bakery-style touch without any fancy technique or extra dishes.
  • You get a solid protein boost without it tasting chalky or gym-rat bland.
  • It smells like banana bread baking, which is honestly half the joy of making it.
02 -
  • Don't overbake or the protein powder can make it dry and crumbly—pull it out when the center still has a slight jiggle.
  • If your protein powder is unflavored, add an extra half teaspoon of vanilla or a drizzle of honey to keep the flavor interesting.
  • Use a ramekin that's at least eight ounces—anything smaller and the batter might overflow in the oven.
03 -
  • Use a very ripe banana with lots of brown spots for maximum sweetness and moisture—under-ripe bananas make it taste flat.
  • Swirl the cinnamon mixture gently and only once or twice; over-swirling mixes it in completely and you lose that gorgeous ribbon effect.
  • If your protein powder tends to clump, sift it with the baking powder before adding to avoid chalky pockets.
