01 -  Set oven to 350°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper. 
 02 -  In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, ground cinnamon, baking soda, and salt. 
 03 -  Using an electric mixer or whisk, beat softened butter, light brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. 
 04 -  Beat in eggs one at a time, then blend in pure vanilla extract. 
 05 -  Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet mixture until just combined. 
 06 -  Stir in chopped dates and pecans evenly throughout the dough. 
 07 -  Drop tablespoon-sized mounds of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing cookies about 2 inches apart. 
 08 -  Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes, until edges are golden and centers remain soft. 
 09 -  Allow cookies to cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
