Chocolate Covered Frozen Banana Bites (Print Version)

Frozen banana bites coated in chocolate, finished with nutty or coconut toppings for a sweet, chilly treat.

# Ingredients:

→ Fruit

01 - 2 large ripe bananas

→ Chocolate Coating

02 - 200 g semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips

→ Optional Layer

03 - 4 tablespoons creamy peanut butter

→ Topping

04 - 2 tablespoons crushed nuts (such as peanuts, almonds, or walnuts)
05 - 1 tablespoon shredded coconut
06 - 1 tablespoon sprinkles

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - Peel the bananas and cut them into 1 cm thick rounds. Arrange the slices evenly on the prepared baking sheet.
03 - If desired, top each banana slice with approximately ½ teaspoon of creamy peanut butter.
04 - Place the baking sheet in the freezer for 30 minutes until the banana slices are firm.
05 - Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl using 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until completely smooth. Alternatively, use a double boiler to melt.
06 - Remove banana slices from the freezer. Using a fork or toothpick, dip each slice into the melted chocolate to completely coat. Allow excess chocolate to drip off.
07 - Return each chocolate-coated banana bite to the baking sheet. Immediately sprinkle with crushed nuts, shredded coconut, or sprinkles as desired, before chocolate sets.
08 - Freeze the banana bites for at least 1½ hours, or until completely firm.
09 - Serve banana bites straight from the freezer. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the freezer for up to two weeks.

# Additional Notes:

01 - For a vegan option, substitute dairy-free chocolate chips. Almond or cashew butter can replace peanut butter. Dark chocolate delivers a more intense flavor, while milk chocolate creates a sweeter bite. Adding a drizzle of white chocolate can enhance presentation.
02 - Chocolate-covered frozen banana bites are best served straight from the freezer to maintain optimal texture.
03 - Pairs well with cold milk or coffee.
