Description

This easy homemade garlic parmesan seasoning is perfect for adding a burst of savory flavor to all your favorite dishes! It’s a simple blend of garlic, parmesan, and herbs, far superior to store-bought versions and ready in minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup garlic powder

  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese (powdered or finely grated)

  • 2 tablespoons dried onion powder

  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley

  • 1 tablespoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano (optional)

  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the garlic powder, parmesan cheese, onion powder, dried parsley, salt, and black pepper.

  2. If desired, add the dried oregano and red pepper flakes.

  3. Whisk all the ingredients together until well combined.

  4. Transfer the seasoning to an airtight container. Store in a cool, dry place.

Notes

  • Variations: For a spicier seasoning, add more red pepper flakes or a pinch of cayenne pepper. For a more herby blend, add dried basil, thyme, or a mix of Italian herbs.

  • Tips: Use freshly grated parmesan and dry it in a low oven before using, but powdered parmesan will give the best shelf stability. Always use a clean, dry spoon when measuring out your seasoning. To avoid clumping, add a silica gel packet to the jar, if available.

  • Allergies/Intolerances: This recipe contains dairy (parmesan). It is not gluten-free due to the potential for cross-contamination of spices (always verify gluten-free label on products).

  • Taste Adjustments: Adjust the amount of salt to your preference. If you prefer a stronger garlic flavor, add more garlic powder. Reduce salt for low sodium diets.
